S Series Reducers

SEW S series reducers, officially named helical-worm gear units, are high-performance transmission devices renowned for their integrated design, reliability, and versatility. As a flagship product of SEW-EURODRIVE, this series combines helical gear and worm gear transmission, achieving far higher efficiency than single worm gear reducers, making it an ideal choice for both general industrial scenarios and potentially explosive environments.

The core advantage of the S series lies in its optimized structural design. With 7 specifications available, each can be independently adjusted for torque and speed, perfectly adapting to spaces with limited installation room. Its modular design allows seamless combination with various explosion-proof motors via AM motor adapters, supporting motor power ranging from 0.12kW to 22kW and delivering an output torque of 92Nm to 4,000Nm. The integrated helical-worm structure enables linear power transmission, effectively suppressing torque pulses and ensuring ultra-low noise operation.

Compliant with EU ATEX directives (2014/34/EU) and certified for equipment group II, category 2 (variant II2GD), the S series meets international standards including EN13463-1/-5/-8. It holds multiple certifications such as EAC (formerly GOST-R), with protection types "c" (safety structure) and "k" (liquid immersion protection). The robust cast iron housing, high-quality oil seals, and high-temperature resistant lubricants enhance durability and sealing performance.

Widely applied in materials handling, metallurgy, chemical, petroleum, and theater equipment, it drives conveyors, rotary tables, presses, and hoists reliably. Supporting foot, flange (B5/B14), horizontal, and vertical installation, it offers solid or hollow shaft options with keyway, shrink disk, or TorqLOC® connections. SEW Reducer S Series Models, Weights and Motor Combinations

Note: The weights refer to the reducer body (aluminum housing for small models, HT250 cast iron for large ones) and may vary with additional modules (e.g., BMG disc brakes, HF high-reliability configuration). Motor combinations comply with SEW standard helical-worm drive matching, covering IE2-IE4 efficiency classes, suitable for compact installation scenarios with low noise and stable transmission, such as packaging machinery, conveyors and textile equipment. The torque range is 10N·m to 4890N·m, and the output speed ranges from 0.12r/min to 397r/min.
